The terms of the deal have not been disclosed, however it is thought that vCita have acquired all of WiseStamp’s intellectual property, assets and employees, including the founders. vCita is a software as a service (Saas) tool that encompasses all aspects of running a small or medium-sized enterprise. There are tools for making bookings, payments, customer relationship management (CRM) and marketing. WiseStamp serves a more narrow purpose. Their software allows users to take their email signature to the next level. You can incorporate social media such as tweets, links to your various profiles or your latest YouTube video. You can also add photos, advertisements and much more. The software comes with an easy to use signature generator, along with a large variety of templates. More than one billion emails have been sent with WiseStamp signatures. The team at vCita are clearly fans of WiseStamp’s technology. They believe encompassing it in their own product will enhance the marketing side of their operation. VCita co-founder Itzik Levy commented, “With all the new means of communication in recent years, email is still the most meaningful tool for small businesses, and mail signatures still offer a great space for business promotion.” While WiseStamp’s technology is an obvious attraction to vCita, there are other benefits to the deal. WiseStamp’s customer database will become available to them, as will their human resources. Levy believes the merger will prove to be a good fit. “We’re thrilled to have WiseStamp join our team. Both companies share the same vision: Empowering small business owners to deliver their services at a level comparable to that of a large company, at a fraction of the cost.” WiseStamp had previously been available as a browser extension, with their premium offering available at a cost of $6 per month. As a result of the acquisition, their software will now be available to vCita’s 100,000 plus premium clients, around twice as many clients as they were able to attract prior to the takeover. WisStamp co-founder Orly Izhaki said, “Over the years, WiseStamp created advanced solutions that enable hundreds of thousands of small enterprises to grow their business online. We are excited about the merger, which will establish us as one of the most dominant players in the SMB market.” Both vCita and WiseStamp are around a decade old, with acquiree WiseStamp founded one year earlier than vCita in 2009. In its ten year history, WiseStamp is believed to have only ever received $400,000 in investment. This year’s $15 million funding round, headed by Forestay Capital Ltd, has taken vCita’s total amount of capital funding to around $30 million, giving them the spending power to enhance their product. It has not been disclosed how much of this has been invested in the acquisition of WiseStamp, or whether further acquisitions are in the pipeline.
