In December last year, Facebook had promised to update the Instagram application on Windows 10 to a Progressive Web App (PWA) application. Back then, the social media had replaced its own Windows 10 OSMeta app for Instagram with a PWA instead.  The old Instagram app was rarely updated, with the application receiving its last update on July 13, 2018. Today, the PWA for Instagram is officially available for download on the Microsoft Store, as spotted by Aggiornamenti Lumia.  The latest update to the Instagram app for Windows 10 brings the PWA to desktop with support for Direct Message (DM). This allows users to access their messages as well as send messages to anyone they want via the desktop application. The update also includes the usual bug fixes and some improvements.  Those interested can download the Instagram app for Windows 10 here. If you already have the Instagram app, you need to receive the latest update from the Microsoft Store or wait for the update to install automatically.
