Dubbed as ‘Tiger Lake’, these mobile processors that are built on Intel’s 10nm new SuperFin process technology introduce the all-new Willow Cove architecture, which includes new CPU and GPU optimization and capabilities, greater AI acceleration, the fastest connectivity, and more. Leveraging Intel’s new SuperFin process technology, 11th Gen Intel Core processors optimize power efficiency with leading performance and responsiveness while running at significantly higher frequencies versus prior generations.
The 11th Gen Intel Core processors come with Intel Iris Xe graphics, delivering up to 2.7x faster content creation, more than 20% faster office productivity, and more than 2x faster gaming plus streaming in real-world workflows over competitive products. They also feature clock speeds of up to 4.8GHz versus 4.0GHz on the 10th gen models. “11th Gen Intel Core processors with Intel Iris Xe graphics are a major leap forward in real world processor performance and are the best laptop processors we have built,” said Gregory Bryant, Intel Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Client Computing Group. “From productivity and content creation to entertainment and gaming, when you pick a system powered by 11th Gen Intel Core – especially one of our new Intel Evo co-engineered and verified designs – you know you are getting the best laptop experience possible.” These CPUs support Intel’s new Thunderbolt 4 (which can handle two 4K displays or one 8K display), PCIe 4.0 interconnect, Wi-Fi 6, a new generation of DDR5 RAM, as well as integrated Xe graphics. Intel also introduced the Intel Evo platform for designs based on 11th Gen Intel Core i7 or i5 processors with Intel Iris Xe graphics and verified through the Project Athena innovation program’s second-edition specification and key experience indicators (KEIs). It aims to deliver a high level of quality control when it comes to experiences across productivity, gaming, and entertainment. Intel Evo platforms also feature best-in-class wired and wireless connectivity with integrated Thunderbolt 4 universal cable connectivity and Intel Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+), minimum nine hours of battery life on a FHD display, less than 1-sec system wake up time, fast charging that gives up to four hours of usage in 30 minutes charge, as well as premium audio, webcam and display, all wrapped in sleek thin-and-light form factors for a premium experience. Intel says that more than 150 designs based on 11th generation Intel Core processors are expected to be presented to the market by partners such as Acer, Asus, Dell, Dynabook, HP, Lenovo, LG, MSI, Razer, Samsung. More than 20 of these laptops will sport Intel’s new Evo platform brand that are expected to come out this year.
